Despite a failed drug test and one-year suspension, James Irvin is heading overseas to fight light-heavyweight champion Mamed Khalidov in the headliner of next week's KSW 15 event. Officials today announced the title fight, which takes place March 19 in Warsaw, Poland. Irvin recently was pulled from a Shark Fights 14 co-headliner and rematch with Houston Alexander due to his alleged used of the steroid epitrenbolone at December's Tachi Palace Fights 7 event.

It looks like the rematch will have to wait. Both James Irvin and Houston Alexander won't be able to fight at Shark Fights 14, though for very different reasons. Irvin has been pulled from the fight following an alleged positive test for steroids. Alexander has sustained an undisclosed injury in training that has ousted him, too, from the rematch.

Nine-time UFC veteran James Irvin will return to his California roots in his first fight since his recent release from the world's top mixed martial arts organization. Tachi Palace Fights officials today announced that Irvin will face former Palace Fighting Championship light heavyweight champion Jorge Oliveira in the main event of Tachi Palace Fights 7. Tachi Palace Fights 7 takes place Dec. 2 at the Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino in Lemoore, Calif. Broadcast plans are expected to be announced at a later date.
